Pure Insanity Portraits

Jessica's 2011 soccer team is named Pure Insanity. I used two Nikon speedlights with diffusers to take some portraits for the soccer banner. My direction to them was to do something insane. As you can see, there are different interpretations. However, I think the banner came out awesome. Here's a few samples.

Lost and Found

 In July while with the cat sitter, Tigger (pictured above) escaped into the Washington wilderness for five days. Only his love for McDonald's cheeseburgers lured him into a live trap where he was captured and brought home. His siblings (pictured below) are glad he's home.

Halloween in July?

No, just a few of snaps of the girls getting creative with makeup.

4x5 images

The first shot is a 4x5 portrait of Jessica from one of my class projects earlier this year. It was shot on Tri-X 320 with two studio strobes on seamless grey paper.  The other two shots were captured on TMax 100 sheet film with a Toyo field camera and Nikkor 150mm f/5.6 lens. The landscape is of the Point Vicente Lighthouse in Palos Verdes at sunset. All film was developed in Xtol and scanned with an Epson V750 scanner.

The New Miller Hacienda

The Miller's finally broke ground on their much anticipated new home. I was present for the foundation pour and shot both video and some stills. The first several photos are the architectural renderings (via iPhone).

Update Friday, 10/14/11, framing started this week. Very, very tall!
