2012 Mt. SAC Relays - Part 2

Day two started with some what of a surprise. The Cal State Dominguez Hills Women's 4x100 relay team showed up for the first time in many years. These girls have had a fantastic season and won the Women's 4x100 relay and finished fifth overall improving their qualifying time to 46.81.

2012 Mt. SAC Relays - Part 1

I spent three days this month in Walnut covering the 54th running of the Mt. SAC Relays. Interestingly, I heard that this is the largest Track & Field meet in the world. Not sure if this is the case, but it was nice to be back to the typical three day format (unlike last year). Below is the article that ran in the newspaper and a few selections from the first day's Steeple Chase. The wide angle photos were shot with a remote. More to follow...

Forum Music Festival

Jessica's Show Choir performed a couple weeks ago at the historic Plummber Auditorium in Fullerton which was built in the 1930s. The auditorium has Spanish Colonial Revival architecture with Italian Renaissance design elements and seats over 1,300 people. It features an elaborate ceiling of painted and decorated rough-hewn beams, the original wrought iron chandeliers, arched side isles with composite capitals, and other classical ornamentation. It was hard to get a decent exposure up there, but here's what I came up with.

Storm Windows

With rain in the forecast for tomorrow, I got up early and took a walk through the Bolsa Chica Wetlands. It was a nice morning (~50 degrees). There are some homes that border the Wetlands and are divided by a glass fence/wall. The first photo was shot into the backyard of one of the homes with the reflection from the sky in the glass.

Home Sweet Home

The Cal State Fullerton Titans matched up against the Long Beach State 49ers on Saturday afternoon in a duel  of the undefeated home conference records. The Titans are 7-0 and the 49ers are 15-0 in conference play. The Titans had the home court advantage and prevailed taking their season's home record to a perfect 8-0 by beating the 49ers 77-74. With the win the Titans will be the No. 2 seed in the Big West Tournament next week at the Honda Center.

Hoops at the Pyramid

For those who didn't know, I had a main board failure in my old Macbook. It's taken me a little time to acquire a new laptop and configure everything to work with OSX Lion. I'm almost there with the exception of some film scanner issues.

Anyway, these are some photos from the Titans trip to the Pyramid in late January. The game was close, but in the end the 49ers were too much for the the Titans winning 75-61.
